Second District Crime Trends

‑While we are seeing increases across all types of violent crime compared with 2021, the 2nd District is considerably lower than most other Districts

 

‑2nd District homicides have tripled since 2019- however, at 9 YTD, they are tied with the 8th District for the fewest 2022 homicides

 

‑Shooting incidents declined considerably between 2020-2021, but are slowly on the rise in 2022 (+22% since 2021)

 

‑Carjacking incidents have shown the highest rate of increase across the 4-year period: up 78% since 2021, +100% since 2020, and +220% since 2019
