There were 12 reported major violent crimes in New Orleans the week of June 29-July 5, 2026.

 

Two reported homicide victims included 1 killed by strangulation and 1 hit-and-run fatality victim.

 

The week had 8 reported armed robberies with 3 in the 7th District (New Orleans East), 2 in the 5th District (Ninth Ward/Marigny), 2 in the 6th District (Central City/Irish Channel), and 1 in the 8th District (French Quarter/Downtown). The 2nd District (Uptown/Carrollton) had 2 reported carjackings.

 

There were no nonfatal shootings reported and no reported major violent crime in the 1st (Treme/Mid-City), 3rd (Lakeview/Gentilly), or 4th (Algiers) Districts.
