There were 12 major violent crimes in New Orleans from April 27th through May 3rd including 3 homicides, 2 nonfatal shootings, 3 carjackings, and 4 armed robberies.

Six (6) of the major violent crimes occurred in the 7th District (New Orleans East) where there was 1 homicide victim, 1 nonfatal shooting, 1 carjacking, and 3 armed robberies.

Notably, there were 4 major violent incidents reported in the Pines Village neighborhood of the 7th District.

No major violent crimes were reported in the 2nd District (Uptown/Carrollton) or 8th District (French Quarter/Downtown).
