Eighth District Crime Trends

–All 8th District major violent crime types have increased since 2019, though the 8th District is consistently lower than other districts (likely due to small size/tourist traffic)

 

 

–Shooting incidents in the 8th District became increasingly common in 2021 – however, in 2022 there has been a 50% decrease in 8th District shootings

 

 

 

–Armed robbery rates have climbed well above pre-pandemic levels, as 2022 has seen a 32% increase over 2019 and a 40% increase over 2021
