Fourth District Crime Trends

–All types of major violent crime in the 4th District are trending up compared with 2019-2021, with smaller changes in armed robbery (+44% since 2021) and homicide incidents (+27% since 2021) than shooting (+53% since 2021) or carjacking (+200% since 2021)

–The 4th District has shown a sharp increase in carjacking incidents relative to prior years – from 2019-2021, reported 4th Dist. carjacking ranged from 2-5 YTD incidents – as of August 21, 2022, there had been 15 carjacking incidents reported
