Last week was the most deadly in New Orleans since the January 1, 2025 terrorist attack. Reported incidents of major violent crime included 8 homicides, 2 shootings, and 3 armed robberies.

As of Monday, September 29th, police solved 4 of the week’s 8 homicides and were seeking a suspect in the Bourbon Street mass shooting that resulted in the death of a tourist and 3 injuries on September 28th.

Only the 3rd District (Gentilly, Lakeview) did not have any reported major violent crime.
