Relatively quiet week until this past weekend – since Friday, TWELVE people have been injured in ten shooting incidents, at least one of whom has died.
We have had at least 186 homicides in 2022

- 39% higher than the same time in 2021
Nonfatal shooting incidents are 101% higher than 2019 and, while 8% lower compared with 2021:
- The combined total of fatal + nonfatal shootings in 2022 is nearly equal to that of 2021 (+1%)
- There has been a 30% increase in shooting fatalities this year compared with 2021
Carjacking slowed a bit this week – at 192 YTD, we are 200% higher than 2019, but only 6% higher than 2021 – much smaller rate of growth than we were seeing earlier in the year
Compared with 2019, armed robbery shows the smallest change of any violent crime category (+27%), BUT
- Compared to last year, armed robbery currently shows the highest rate of growth of any violent crime type (+44%)
