Sixth District Crime Trends

-The 6th District has seen the largest increase (+140%) in 2021-2022 homicides of any district

– Carjacking incidents in the 6th District have more than doubled in the past year (+170%)

-We saw a large spike in 6th District shooting incidents in 2021, though that has declined by 10% in 2022

-6th District armed robbery rates remain largely stable, even during the COVID-19 shutdown in 2020-2021, although at 33 YTD incidents, robberies are 14% higher than 2021 and 18% higher than 2019 (pre-pandemic)
