2022-2023 ARMED ROBBERY Trends 

 

16% DECLINE in citywide armed robbery vs. June 30, 2022 (YTD 2022 = 269 vs. YTD 2023 = 226)

 

7th District armed robbery showed a sharp increase in 2023 (+40%; from 45 in 2022 to 63 YTD 2023).  Notably, the 7th District accounts for 28% of armed robberies in 2023, far above any other NOPD District in 2023.

In contrast, the 3rd District showed the largest decrease (-60%; from 45 in 2022 to 18 in 2023).

Substantial reductions were also noted in the 8th District (-45%; from 38 in 2022 to 21 in 2023) 1st District (-32%; from 41 in 2022 to 28 in 2023), & 5th District (-31%; from 39 in 2022 to 27 in 2023).
