2022-2023 SHOOTING INCIDENT Trends 

 

12% DECLINE in citywide nonfatal shooting incidents vs. June 30, 2022 (YTD 2022 = 240 vs. YTD 2023 = 212)

54% of all 2023 shooting incidents through June 30th occurred in either the 7th District (32%; 67 shootings) or the 5th District (22%; 46 shootings).

Reductions in nonfatal shootings are most evident in the 3rd District (-36%; from 25 YTD 2022 to 16 YTD 2023), and 4th District (-32%; from 22 YTD in 2022 to 15 YTD 2023), with smaller changes noted in the 7th District (2022 = 72 vs. 2023 = 67) and the 2nd District (2022 = 11 vs. 2023 = 5).
