
Since last week, the City of New Orleans has experienced 11 armed robberies, 7 shootings, 3 carjackings, and 3 homicides.
With 3 more Homicides this week, our YTD total is 225 – 142% higher since 2019 and +38% since 2021
The combined total of fatal + nonfatal shooting incidents in 2022 has reached 554
– Of these shooting incidents, 180 have been fatal shootings (32% fatality rate) and 374 have been nonfatal (68%)
Last year, 25% of shooting incidents had resulted in a fatality (133 of 523 total) and 75% were nonfatal (390 incidents)

Armed Robberies continue to outpace all other violent crimes with a YTD total of 440, we are well above pre-pandemic levels (+31% since 2019, +57% since 2020, and +49% since 2021) and they are climbing exponentially in every single NOPD district
Carjacking incidents are at a YTD total of 236, +184% higher compared with 2019, +67% since 2020, and maintain a 13% increase from 2021, similar to last week’s stats.
